David St George's Master CFI & GI Renewals
:: Thursday, July 15, 2010
David St George, a 7-time Master and SAFE member, recently renewed his Master CFI and Master GI accreditations. David is the chief flight instructor with East Hill Flying Club (http://www.EHFC.net/), a Part 141 flight school at Ithaca's Tompkins County Regional Airport (ITH). He also serves as a designated pilot examiner and a FAASTeam representative in the Rochester FSDO area.
The Master Instructors LLC takes pride in announcing a significant aviation accomplishment on the part of David St George, the East Hill Flying Club chief flight instructor and a resident of Ithaca, New York. Recently, David's accreditations as a Master CFI (Certificated Flight Instructor) and a Master Ground Instructor (MGI) were renewed by the Master Instructors LLC, the international accrediting authority for the Master Instructor designation as well as the FAA-approved "Master Instructor Program." He first earned this national professional accreditation in 1998, has held it continuously since then, and is one of only 11 worldwide to earn the credential seven times.
To help put these achievements in their proper perspective, there are approximately 93,000 CFIs in the United States. Fewer than 700 of them have achieved that distinction thus far. The last 15 national Flight Instructors of the Year were Master CFIs while he is one of only 12 New York State aviation educators who has earned this prestigious "Master" title. Additionally, he is one of 27 aviation educators worldwide to hold two accreditations concurrently.
In the words of former FAA Administrator Marion Blakey, "The Master Instructor accreditation singles out the best that the right seat has to offer."
